Which questions would parents want a decision aid to make room for?

This study follows how a parent-facing decision aid was developed. The design process is the evidence, distinct from whether the tool changes vaccination decisions.

Who was studied?

Parents interviewed about information needs, with a prototype refined through repeated development cycles.

Age / stage: Childhood vaccination decisions

Read with three questions

  1. Which design revisions came from parents during testing?
  2. How did participant input translate into a change in the design?
  3. Where in the decision process could the child, the parent and the clinician express different priorities?

Keep the limits in view

Participation in designing a tool does not prove that using it changes decisions or outcomes. Findings depend on which stakeholders took part in development and testing.
