Parenting Journal · The Research University

Take families seriously.
Keep the evidence close.

A journal for parents, caregivers, educators and researchers who want to understand relationships without reducing families to a formula.

The TRICK collection

The two volumes bring together 500 distinct Creative Commons articles, 100 each for Trust, Respect, Independence, Collaboration and Kindness. The framework comes from Esther Wojcicki’s TRICK approach. The five sections are editorial reading pathways; individual studies investigate related constructs and practices rather than the whole framework.

The feature How to Raise Successful People is planned for Esther Wojcicki and remains forthcoming until her manuscript is supplied and published. It is separate from the research article counts.

What we select—and what we preserve

The issue includes systematic reviews, meta-analyses, interventions and observational studies with substantive relevance to parenting or caregiver–child relationships. Original titles, authors, journals, dates, publishers and DOIs remain attached to each article. A paper appears once across the collection, even when it relates to several values. Distinct papers can analyze the same cohort, so article counts can exceed the number of independent datasets.

Each edition carries an article-level Creative Commons reuse grant. NonCommercial, NoDerivatives, temporary COVID reuse notices and ambiguous permissions are excluded. Where a source explicitly grants CC BY but omits the version, that omission is stated rather than replaced with an inferred version.

The saved text contains the original abstract and main article body, with markup and whitespace normalized. Figures, tables, supplementary material, references and peer-review correspondence are omitted. Any length limit is disclosed on the individual reading. The original source remains available.

Evidence before certainty

Study populations, ages, methods, mixed findings and limitations stay visible. An observational association is not presented as a causal result. Findings from one culture, intervention, age group or clinical population do not automatically apply to every family. Study-design labels are descriptions, not quality ratings.

Repository publication notices are screened at the stated verification date. This is a point-in-time source check, not an assurance that no later correction will appear, and not a new independent peer-review decision.

Paper Agents and editorial responsibility

Every research reading has a source-grounded Paper Agent. It retrieves passages from the same identity- and hash-verified text used by the reader. It does not invent findings or offer individualized clinical advice. You can follow every reading back to its source and license notice.

TRICK placement, family-facing questions and reading guides are AI-assisted editorial additions prepared under Dr. Freedom Cheteni’s commissioning direction. They are separate from the original researchers’ writing. Original authors, publishers and Esther Wojcicki are not represented as endorsing those additions.

Contribute original work

Parenting Journal welcomes original research, evidence reviews, policy analysis and thoughtful commentary on family relationships and child development. New manuscripts use JournalOS’s verified-author, disclosure and human editorial-review process. Public source editions do not bypass that process for new authored work.
