Institutional quality · Evidence, inquiry and improvement

A framework
for lasting quality.

Our infrastructure connects institutional assertions to original exhibits, independent review and recorded improvement. Publication contributes evidence of scholarship; academic achievement also requires faculty assessment across the curriculum.

Institutional status and candor

This platform makes no claim that VR University is WSCUC accredited, eligible, or a candidate. Those statuses require official Commission documentation. The published framework is an infrastructure and self-review map, not a determination that the institution meets the standards.

WSCUC's process for institutions seeking accreditation includes an inquiry, Alignment and Financial Reviews, an eligibility determination, and subsequent candidacy/initial accreditation review. Its 2026 eligibility guidance is incorporated into the institutional strategy.

Four standards · Forty-one criteria

Standard 1

Defining Institutional Mission and Acting with Integrity

8 criteria mapped to exhibit requirements, responsible functions and internal review.

Standard 2

Achieving Educational Objectives and Student Success

14 criteria mapped to exhibit requirements, responsible functions and internal review.

Standard 3

Assuring Resources and Organizational Structures

11 criteria mapped to exhibit requirements, responsible functions and internal review.

Standard 4

Creating an Institution Committed to Quality Assurance and Improvement

8 criteria mapped to exhibit requirements, responsible functions and internal review.

The existing journal and school research platform provides supporting capabilities for 10 criteria, including integrity disclosures, editorial access, source provenance, scholarly outputs and research pathways. This is capability coverage. Institution-wide compliance remains unassessed until actual evidence has been collected and reviewed.

The institutional strategy

  1. 01

    Establish authority and sustainability

Document legal postsecondary degree authority, independent governance, qualified academic leadership, the degree portfolio and financial readiness. Begin the WSCUC inquiry and readiness process with actual institutional documents.

  2. 02

    Approve curriculum and assessment

Faculty define program outcomes, coherent curricula, entry and completion standards, rubrics and review cycles. High-school research pathways remain clearly distinct from higher-education degree programs.

  3. 03

    Demonstrate learning and support

Build real cohorts and assess actual work. Document progression, completion, graduate outcomes, equitable access and support effectiveness. Research publication is one artifact among the evidence.

  4. 04

    Close the improvement cycle

Analyze disaggregated outcomes, record decisions, resource and implement changes, then review subsequent results. Assemble a candid report with concise exhibits and the required institutional and federal compliance materials.
