Read with three questions

  1. What does the article establish about whether reframing outdoor risk affects mothers’ willingness to allow challenging play?
  2. What did the comparison group receive, and did the outcome measure daily practice or reported attitudes?
  3. How closely does the population described here match the family or setting you have in mind? The population to compare is canadian mothers of children aged six to twelve enrolled in the Go Play Outside! trial.

Keep the limits in view

The mothers volunteered for this trial. A change in reported risk tolerance does not necessarily show a change in what children did outdoors.
